The ACHRC mission is to ensure that everyone has the ability of enjoying the full benefits of citizenship, and are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing and use of public accommodation facilities. These opportunities shall be afforded to every individual without the fear of discrimination regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry or place of birth, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, familial status, age or use of a guide or support animal because of blindness, deafness or physical disability.
Allegheny County High School Seniors who are interested in learning more about and participating in helping to create a greater community awareness, through projects and social media, are encouraged to participate in the ACHRC Diversity Awards. The participating students are expected to be in good standing, involved in community and or school activities and are committed to social justice and human rights. Participating students will present their projects to their corresponding School District representatives. These representatives will review individual student's submissions and choose one student as their school's representative and submit this student's project to the ACHRC.
See Mrs. Babik for details if you are interested.
