Students learn in labs that replicate industry workrooms with Help Center support. Each year, as part of their studies, graduating students participate in a full-scale runway show featuring a collection they have designed and created. The program has a capstone internship course, with an outstanding placement record. Faculty teaching in the program work closely with each other, colleagues at 4-year schools, and industry professionals to continuously assess and update the curriculum.
Throughout the course of their studies, students have the opportunity to participate in industry fashion shows, partnership with Roosevelt Field and events with retailers such as GUCCI, BLOOMINGDALES, and BROOKS BROTHERS. The program has a dedicated fashion club, so students can learn techniques not taught as part of the curriculum, participate in industry fundraising events, visit museums, and interact with business executives in the fashion industry. The program provides students with the opportunity to hear from and interact with alumni through various events and programs. Finally, the program encourages students to participate in various design competitions, which showcase their work and build their professional networks.
